North Country and the Borders

The Pennine Way provides about 250 miles of this stage before heading north west from Jedburgh to the outskirts of Edinburgh for a total of some 304 miles.

I think the word is "challenging" - it's all in the guide books.

Philippa is joining me at Horton in Ribblesdale for a couple of days walking to Hawes and Keld, then she goes off to Kirkby Stephen by road and picks up a train to head back home.

Two days in Langden Beck as I am going to leave out the section of Pennine Way that goes through Dufton - walking directly from Langden Beck to Garrigill. The luxury of a two night stop was just too enticing, have to come back another time to finish off the Pennine Way.
